My final end of the year blogpost

My primary years are almost over but not just yet, as we had our final primary prize giving this morning we moved on to the fare wells to our beloved teachers ; Mrs Kingston, Mrs Curtis ,Mrs Wright and Miss German. Even though there were some tearful moments between the heart felt speeches and the graceful and touching songs. We tried to stay strong for the rest of the memorable moments we made every second. I cannot wait for the future surprises that are awaiting me and my associates and what challenges that will have to be defeated by someone with intelligence ; strength and responsibility's and I hope to be that person one day.
Farewell to all and may you have a good holiday and a very merry Christmas.

5.06.15 RW Speed Write Proof read : The glittering spheres beyond the heavens.

[Introduction]
Stars stars stars everywhere they appear at night and in the day how do they appear in the day? You say well here is a known fact about stars it is that stars never go away. It is just the bright sky blending in with the stars so the stars are actually hidden.

[ Appearances ]
The giant star may have disappeared from sight but it is gravity remains. There are variety of colours some are blue, purple and silver. Most stars are too small to shine as bright as the sun. The brightest star is sirus and the second brightest is canopus.Stars hotness depends on its colour. Some stars are small because they are a huge distance away from earth.

[ Star life cycle ]
Stars are born in nebulae which is a clump of dust and gas. Stars take 2 million years to form into a flat disk and then it takes 18 million years for it to become a sphere that stage is called a protostar. Then heat will begin to rise after 12 million years atoms begin to grow bigger and bigger and the pressure causes the atoms to fuse together which turns hydrogen atoms to helium atoms. Although there is a battle happening at the same time because the gravity tries to crush the stars so the stars try to find a force to resist the gravitational pull.

[types of stars]
As most of you know the sun is also a star actually it is one of the smallest star in our solar system but here is a hidden fact the sun is a gz dwarf star. Did you know A exploding star, supernova can generate shock waves so powerful that they compress a near by nebula. A supernovae are the most dynamic and energetic events in our universe. If you were wondering what supernovas are they are explosions generated by large stars when they come to the end of their life span.

[Conclusion]
There are stars that comes only on matariki those kind of star are all sisters. The light from the stars take millions of years to reach earth. By the time our sun has reached the red giant stage it will have expanded right out past mars.

The mysteries of the spherical crater

In Week 6 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great explanations.
We wrote about the Moon’s different phases as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great explanation will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time. Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

Did you know the possibilities of the moon and how it changes it’s appearance? WOW THEY ACTUALLY CHANGE SHAPE! yes by the way those changes are the eight phases of the moon. The reason why the moon changes shape is because the moon is between the sun and earth as it orbit’s. And 9the reflection of the light makes part of the moon seen and the other parts are shaded when it rotates.

The Moon orbits the Earth in an opposite direction. The Moon fulfil its rotation in approximately 27.322 days. Also known as a lunar month and a little tip is that the moon is the fifth largest planet in the entire solar system. And that it takes the moon (27 days, 7 hours, 43 minutes, 11.6 seconds) to orbit the earth.

As I mentioned before about the moon having eight phases. known to be the New moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter and waning crescent those are caused by the lights reflection of the moon.

I hope interpreting these mysteries of the moon has been helpful to your wonders and curiouser needs. If you would like to learn more about this subject you should consider using this website: http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/time/moon/facts.htm .I hope this explanation has given you inspiration to write an explore the wonders of the Moon.

The sanguine,sabulous and glacine planet

In Week 5 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great information reports.
We wrote about the planet Mars as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great information report will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time.
Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

Do you know Mars’ great discoveries? well here is some facts about Mars .Mars is an  interesting planet named after the Roman God of war with volcanos that are active knowing the size of the volcanos it is one of many reasons why people do not live on Mars.

Surface features
Mars is also similar to earth, but Mars does have differences it’s just peculiar to the human eye.
The reddish colour of Mars is caused by the presence of it’s rust in its sandy soil. Also it is half the size of earth. Mars and earth both have volcanoes but Mars has an extensive volcano that is called mount olympia  .Just like I mentioned earlier.

Could humans live on mars?
Mars is a very parched planet hardly anybody wouldn't want to live there in fact knowing that Mars is red it might seem as it is a burning planet but do not let it’s colour foul you it is actually a cold planet, humans couldn’t live on mars because it has no magnetic field to block out harmful cosmic radiation. And can cause of skin cancer.

Humans Exploration of mars/Mars’ Moons
Mars is the first planet an astronaut would reach after leaving earth. Did you know that Mars has two moons (one is called Phobos and one that’s called Deimos) they are both funny shaped moons but they are different sizes. Also Mars is known to be the 4th planet in our solar system.

Conclusion.
I hope this synopsis about Mars has given you inspiration to write your own information report and research about Mars. Now knowing about how dangerous Mars is, you are now aware of the surprises coming your way if you decide to travel to this planet.
